A Short Reflection

Don’t worry about tomorrow

I have been studying the gospel of Matthew with my friend and this verse stayed with me. It’s from chapter six, verses 33–34.

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

We are always worrying about our life and what will happen next. We waste so much time doing this. It is better if we trust God and just do what needs to be done each day.

God knows our needs and wants before we even ask, so why worry?

I had been thinking about all the places I want to go to, yet I’m stuck in Portugal because of how complicated it is to travel right now.

While I was thinking about these things, I noticed that I had a lot to do, and thinking about the future wasn’t helping.

I will be moving to a new place at the end of the month and no matter how much I want to be in another country right now, this is where I am.

I needed to stay in the present moment. As the Bible verse says, ‘each day has enough trouble of its own.’

I realized that it would be better to focus on the tasks at hand instead of always thinking of tomorrow.

I can leave the future in God’s hands. He already knows what I need and want.

So I decided to let go and stay in the present.

Thank you for reading!
