I’m not that person

How I don’t like to be boxed in

No, I’m not that person

You think I am

No, I’m not that person

You want me to be

No, I’m not that person

Who never changes

No, I’m not that person

Who does things the same way every day.

I know it’s frustrating for others when I don't fit in the box they had for me. It’s surprising how quickly people have expectations.

I will try not to box you in because I believe you are so much more than I can see.

I like what Medium offers — the freedom to be who we want to be. This, of course, does not mean I can or would insult others.

No, I just mean that as Medium is offering this free creative space in which to explore our creativity, I choose not to be boxed in.

Marketing says we must please the readers. I hope I can do that and at the same time, write different things, in different ways, for different people.

If it doesn’t work, that’s okay with me. I want to try this for a while.

No need to politely wade through something you don’t like.

If there's a topic or style of mine you don’t like, just skip over it, I’ll be alright.
