I can’t believe it’s day four already of this poetry challenge with Sahil Patel. What an adventure!!.. a deep dive into our souls :)

Thank you, Sahil for taking us on this journey. It is good for me to explore. :)

All are welcome to join in on this poetry challenge. Sahil is happy to reach more and more writers with his challenging prompts!

Today’s prompt is…

Write about the moment when you discovered that life is no longer a fairy tale?

I had to grow up fast
I’m sorry to say
Who can get back
those childhood days?

Yet, I did have
my fairy tale
for a while
Of beauty
awe and wonder

My fairytales were
lived out
quiet simply
in a secret garden

My dad created
a magnificent garden
It was my world
among the oak, apple
and pear trees

I found my happiness
among the gooseberry bushes
daffodils
and my dads
meticulously managed
vegetables

The moment
I discovered that
life was no longer
a fairy tale
was the day
we had to leave
that place.

Thank you for reading!

It was sad for me to leave a home I loved so much and leave my friends behind. I didn’t find that joy in our second home.

Life is full of ups and downs, but what matters most is how we manage them.

I have discovered that I have the power to create my own fairy tale life.

I am forever grateful to my father for always bringing us out in nature and teaching us how to enjoy the natural things of life.
